Alpen Teton Binoculars

For a year now, I’ve been using the Alpen Teton 10×42 on deer, elk, bear, and turkey hunts in Oregon and Idaho, as well as on small game and coyote hunts. The first day in the field, I compared them to a more expensive competing brand in the last 20 minutes of light. Both binoculars were brand new and of the same magnification and size. There was a slight difference, with the edge going to Alpen for detail and color fidelity.

Alpen’s Teton series employs a roof prism system, PXA phase coating and SHR metallic coating on BaK4 glass. They are O-ring sealed and nitrogen-filled to protect against moisture and armored to protect against shock.

Tetons come in 8×42, 10×42, 8.5×50 and 10×50 models with a glass system borrowed from Alpen‘s more expensive Rainier line and a body from the Apex series. Tetons utilize a center focus system. The 10×42 boasts a field-of-view of 341 feet at 1000 yards. With long eye relief (17mm) and twist-lock eyecups, they are a great fit for a hunter with eyeglasses.

The Alpen Teton line has a suggested retail of $858 to $935.
